✅ Contra Costa County Public Auto Auction (CCCPAA) is a large vehicle auction with generally 150-200 vehicles per sale including cars, trucks, SUVs, minivans, RVs, a huge variety of vehicles. These are quality, smog-certified vehicles obtained through banks, non-profit organizations, city accounts, consignors, credit unions, leasing companies and more. ⌚ The auction begins at 10:00am. The preview period is Noon to 5:00pm on Friday (the day before the auction) and on Saturday (auction day) from 9:00am to 10:00am.

✅ These vehicles have reserve prices, but they are below book value, and it’s a good auction to attend if you’re new to the auction scene because it’s so buyer-friendly. They offer a 24 hour guarantee on major vehicle components, and even offer financing. First-time attendees are thoroughly educated about the auction procedures by the staff. They will guide you through the entire purchase process from financial assistance, vehicle preview, bidding, and driving off the lot.

✅ Auto Return is a privately owned, government contracted company (impound facility) that provides storage services to towing companies and law enforcement agencies, including the San Francisco Police Department.

🔥 Twice per month, usually on Wednesdays, they auction off about 120 vehicles that have been towed, impounded and unclaimed by the registered or legal owners. The auction is held rain or shine, bidding starts at just $200 and every vehicle is sold to the highest bidder.

⌚ The preview/inspection period starts at 8:30am and ends at 9:30am for vehicles that start/run. The auction begins at 10:00am.

💰 Admission is free with a valid picture ID, such as a Driver’s License. Each bidder must display either a valid credit card or $100 cash upon entry. Each bidder is allowed one guest (with valid picture ID). You must be at least 18 to bid, and at least 16 to be a guest.
